tortagon
Octagonalize your hockey stick handle.
We've been playing with the shape of stick handles. This one stuck: an eight-sided sleeve that slides onto the end of your stick, under your grip. It works. So we've decided to let you have the 3D-print file, free. Print it, push it on, wrap your grip over it. That's the whole thing.

Round is a great shape for a wheel. It's a terrible shape for something you need to twist.
That's why bolts aren't round.
Your stick handle is round. The Torqtagon gives it eight flat sides. A noticeable mechanical advantage.
Why not six sides, like a bolt? They hurt your palm.
How it goes on
A bare hockey stick shaft is 1 inch (25.4 mm) across. Our Torqtagons are designed to have the inner diameter a hair bigger, so it's a snug push fit.
- Pull off the end cap.
- Spray hairspray on the bare shaft. Yes, hairspray. While it's wet, it works as a lubricant so the Torqtagon slides on. As it dries, it grips and holds it firmly in place.
- Push the Torqtagon on. Easiest way: stand the Torqtagon on its end on a table or the floor, flip the stick upside down, and push the stick down into it. Use light taps to persuade it, not brute force. It's printed in layers, and a hard whack can crack it between them. It's a tight fit, and that's on purpose: if it slides on easily, it slides off easily.
- Let the hairspray dry.
- Wrap a cushion grip over it, starting right at the lip.

Why free? Because we're not in the end-cap business. We made this because round handles annoyed us. It works. And we'd rather you used it than paid us for a lump of plastic. Download it. Print it. Print one for your teammate.
Want to print these and sell them? Sure. Good luck to you. The file's free and TPU is cheap. Your profit will be about the same.
One more thing
Wrap it with a cushion grip that has an adhesive back. We don't make those. Any hockey shop does.
Want a Chamois or tubeX over the cushion grip? That's us.

No printer? Ask a mate who has one, or take the file to any local 3D print shop.
Material: TPU, Shore hardness 95A. That's the flexible stuff: firm, not hard.
